Use the Quantum Fiber app to set up your new WiFi 7 pods. Learn more about these changes.
If you need to update your WiFi network name (SSID) and/or password, it's easy through the Quantum Fiber app. Just follow the steps below.
SSID is the technical term for your WiFi network. Your security key (WiFi password) keeps that network secure, so that neighbors or others can't access it. These will be set up when your service is first installed. Your technician will show them to you, or you can find them in the Quantum Fiber app.
1. Sign in to the Quantum Fiber app and go to the Dashboard.
2. Scroll down to the Networks section beneath Network Information. Tap on the name of your network (in the example image, "My Fast Home WiFi") to open the edit screen.
3. On the Edit Network screen, enter your chosen Network Name (SSID) and/or Network Password. Enter the password a second time to confirm.
4. To save your changes, tap Done at the top of the screen.
Note for Windows 10 devices - Password requirement
If you have a device running on the Windows 10 operating system, your WiFi password cannot contain any apostrophes (') or quotation marks ("). If these characters are used in your current password, please remove them and save a new password in order to connect devices and see your WiFi pods in the app.
This is only for Windows 10.
There's a quick way to share your WiFi network with visitors and skip the password, using the app.
1. Sign in to the Quantum Fiber app and go to the Dashboard.
2. Scroll down to the Networks section and tap the name of your home WiFi network.
3. Find the Scan to Join code at the bottom of the screen. Your guests can use their mobile device to scan this QR code and instantly join your network.
