Instant Internet frequently asked questions

You should have received information from your property manager about Quantum Fiber Instant Internet.

You might also notice stickers on your equipment that say "Property of Quantum Fiber. Do not remove."

1. While in your home, find your modem. This may be located in a media panel. Connect your device to the WiFi by using the WiFi name (Network SSID) and password (Key/Passphrase) printed on your modem. 

2. Once connected to WiFi, open your web browser and go to

Next, you will see your community welcome page. On the welcome page, you can view special pricing and complete the sign-up process.

3. Connect each of your devices using the WiFi name and password in Step 1.

  • The SSID printed on the modem label is the Network Name that will appear on your device network list.
  • The key/passphrase on the modem label is the password you will enter to connect your devices to the network.
  • You cannot change your WiFi password. You must always use the passphrase on your modem.
  • Your modem may show CenturyLink for the SSID. This will work for Quantum Fiber Instant Internet.


After you've created your Instant Internet account, you can manage it on the website. Click the button below or the link at the top of this page and sign in using the same username and password you created when you set up your account.

Yes, you can run our speed test on any of your devices, or use any web-based speed test you prefer. Keep in mind these kinds of tests show the current speed on that device only, and will not reflect the total bandwidth of your connection.

To restart your freestanding modem manually, follow these steps:

  1. Unplug the power cord from the back of the modem. Make sure you have unplugged the correct cord by checking that all the lights on the modem turn off.

  2. Wait for 1 minute. Be patient and wait the full minute for the best results. 

  3. Plug the power cord back in and wait for the power light and the internet light to turn green (or the single light ring if you have a white C4000 modem).

  4. You should now be able to get online.

If you have a permanently installed C5500XK or C6500XK modem, DO NOT REBOOT. Please contact us for assistance.

With Instant Internet, the WiFi system should automatically optimize for the best performance in your space. However, if you really want to boost your speed on a specific device, you can connect it directly to a media jack in your home using an Ethernet cable.
