Installation of new Quantum Fiber service

So, you've made the leap to Quantum Fiber. Wonderful! Here are some answers to common questions about what to expect for installation and start-up of your new service.

Installation FAQs

You've made a great decision for fast, reliable internet service! When you placed your order, you chose an installation date and time. A technician will install your new service during the time you requested. Please check your email for your order confirmation information and more details about what to expect. You can also use the app to get updates about your installation appointment.

If you already have a permanently installed modem, and have ordered 360 WiFi, you can learn more about setting up your WiFi. Are you providing your own WiFi solution? Learn more here.

Our technician will bring a fiber-optic cable to your location and connect it to the modem. The modem will be permanently installed in your residence or office, which may require us to drill a hole in your wall. After the modem is installed and connected, the technician will run a speed test to make sure you get the best possible speed. You can expect the whole process to take about 3 to 4 hours.

Important: An adult 18 years of age or older must be present during the entire installation process.

If you do not yet have a fiber-optic cable all the way to your premises, we will need to bury a cable. Don't worry—you'll learn about this when you order service, and we'll coordinate with you for this step. The fiber cable will be placed several days before your installation date and time. Our technician may need access to the exterior of your building. You do not have to be present for this step.

In both of these cases, please keep pets inside or restrained, and unlock gates so we can access your property. If the technician can’t access the property, your installation could be delayed.

If you are getting 360 WiFi with your new Quantum Fiber installation, the technician will install the 360 WiFi pods for you during your installation appointment.

For those customers already equipped with the Quantum Fiber modem, we will send the 360 WiFi pods to you. Installation is a snap. Check out our 360 WiFi installation guide.

At the current time, there are no additional installation costs to you. Please note this could change in the future, and some customers with additional products or services might have extra installation costs. You'll be contacted prior to installation for approval to proceed with the order if additional charges apply.

Sure thing! Reschedule your appointment online by signing in to your account and going to My Appointments. From there, you can change your installation to a time that works for you.

Since Quantum Fiber has no contracts, you're free to cancel at any time. Just sign in to your account, go to My Appointments, and select Cancel my appointment. Choose when you want your service to end, and we'll take it from there. You'll get an email confirming your cancellation. If you cancel before your install date, you'll get a refund for your first monthly prepaid charge.

When you ordered Quantum Fiber, we emailed you information about setting up your account. If you don't see it in your inbox, check your spam folder just in case. And, if you can't find the email, no problem. Just chat with us or call 1-833-250-6306. Please note that your account username is your email address.

Quantum Fiber Instant WiFi is available in some multi-unit buildings, including apartments or office complexes. With Instant WiFi, you connect to the internet the moment you move in. No additional installation or contract needed.

If your building has Quantum Fiber Instant WiFi, it's already connected to our fiber-optic network. Once you create your own  Quantum Fiber account, you get secure access to WiFi, with the freedom to connect seamlessly as you move inside and outside of your residence. You can use WiFi on up to 25 connected devices.

To get started, look for a WiFi network called "Start Quantum Fiber" on any device in range. This will take you to the Instant WiFi ordering page, where you can enter payment details, create an account, and get online—instantly!
